Women of Polo, Unite!

The first of its kind, the Women’s International Polo Network (WIPN) is a nonprofit independent international network of women polo players. The organization is dedicated to enhancing women’s polo across the globe, by connecting women polo players via a website, set to launch in December 2018. WIPN was started in honor of founder Dawn Jones’s late friend and women’s polo advocate, Sunny Hale. Hale was a trailblazer for women’s polo, and WIPN and its forthcoming website resource aim to continue her legacy of connecting and growing both women’s polo, and the sport as a whole.

The website will feature player profiles, as well as a comprehensive global calendar of women’s polo tournaments. Visitors to the site will be able to search for players by name, handicap, or location and contact each other in a manner that facilitates easier team building. One of the main purposes of WIPN is to foster and grow the women’s polo community, and to eventually engage in sponsorship and philanthropic outreach. The website also contains features to find certified women umpires and to post and watch women’s polo-related content, including videos of players and matches. Overall, the Women’s International Polo Network seeks to raise awareness of women’s polo around the world, building a strong community that comes together to support women in polo.
