About Our Facilities
Thank you for your interest in the Santa Barbara
Polo & Racquet Club. Our seaside club is one of
the oldest of polo clubs in the United States, playing
the first polo game in 1894. The historic Polo Clubhouse
was built in 1911 and remains very much as it was
then. It has served as location to numerous social
and charity events, often with polo as a part of the
celebration. It wasn't until 1974 that 141 Deluxe
Condominium units with a swimming pool, and a private
Tennis Club were built. The Tennis Club boasts eight
tennis courts - six lit for night play, a heated pool,
Jacuzzi, locker rooms and a tennis clubhouse. We,
of course, maintain extensive equestrian facilities
with an exercise track, an arena for our polo school
and riding instruction, competitive polo and various
equestrian events, stabling for 350 horses, and three
beautiful outdoor fields.

The
Polo Clubhouse is a unique venue for hosting
small meetings, private social gatherings, corporate
functions, receptions and weddings. The clubhouse
décor is a traditional hunter-green accented
with vintage and contemporary polo photographs
and memorabilia.
French doors open onto the outside terrace
over looking the Glen Holden Field. The soothing
Pacific Ocean, lush green fields, and the profile
of the Santa Ynez Mountains make for a beautiful
backdrop for any occasion.
The main room in the clubhouse will accommodate
approximately 50 seated guests. The terrace
and the turf just beyond the terrace will facilitate
another 200 guests. In addition, the polo club
has stadium seating on each side of the clubhouse
facing Holden Field, with seating for approximately
700 guests. |
We provide a high quality and unique event setting
for your group or occasion. Please feel free to inquire
about our Golf Cart Polo Events to add even more fun
to your social or business occasion. Throughout the
year, priority must be given to the events and activities
that surround the polo competition and tournament
schedule. We hope you join us for an afternoon of
Sunday polo between May 11 to October 27.
