When did you start playing polo?
Since I remember I was thinking all day about polo. My dad used to play back home, so I went with him all weekends. My first tournament was when I was 6.

What do you love most about the sport?
In the beginning, I loved to play because I met my friends on the field. Later on, as I got better, I started loving the adrenaline of the game. But nowadays, the best part of the game for me is the horses. I started breeding back home 8 years ago, and being able to play two of the homebred in the US Open, is priceless, because I've been part of the whole process and it's been tough.

What’s the most challenging aspect of polo?
I think there are two. The first one is being away from home. Away from your family and your friends. And second, is able to have good horses wherever you play, cause they are 80% or 85% part of the game.

Tell us about your horses (or your favorite horse)?
My favorite horse is a mare called La Diez. She is a thoroughbred, I bought her when she was 5 years old. I played her for 6 years and then I started to breed with her. As a player, she was the best, and now as a mother, she is even better, so there is no way not to love her! When you go to the farm, she is always the first one to come to me and say hi. I feel like we have a special connection.

Favorite pre-match meal?
I don't have one. I just eat when I'm hungry.

What’s your favorite thing to do in Santa Barbara when you’re off duty?
I've been just one week in Santa Barbara, so the beach has been the best place so far.

Where will polo take you next this year?
I'm in Peru right now, on Monday I'm going back to Santa Barbara till September 1, and then to Argentina till the end of the Argentine Open.
